We didn’t know it at the time, but we were founded on the principals of social entrepreneurism and social responsibility:
- We discovered that there was a 12 year gap between when people started their first job to when they had enough in assets to work with a traditional financial advisor. 12 years is a lot of time to make mistakes and miss opportunities. We needed to fill this gap.
- We realized that for 95% of us our last personal finance class was around 1st grade when we learned to count money. We were never taught about credit cards, student loans, mortgages, insurance, 401(k)’s, taxes, and investing. We needed to teach these things.
